They rest together at an old wooden table, turning an ordinary moment into something that feels almost timeless. The figures themselves are left unseen; the relationship is carried entirely through touch, scale and proximity.

The composition moves gently between presence and memory. Warm ivory space surrounds areas of expressive graphite and restrained painterly colour, while broad passages of tactile impasto gather around the table and hands. Parts of the scene remain deliberately unresolved, allowing the image to feel less like a recorded moment and more like something remembered.

Rather than portraying grandparents through sentiment or nostalgia, the artwork considers their unique place within a family — as the keepers of stories, memories and small pieces of family history that might otherwise be lost.

The poem and image are composed as one continuous piece, allowing the words to become part of the artwork rather than simply accompanying it.

A deeply personal keepsake for a grandmother, grandfather or grandparents — for a birthday, Christmas, Grandparents’ Day, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, or simply to say thank you for the stories.

PRODUCT DETAILS

A digital Fine Art Literary Keepsake by Surreal Mindscapes, created through a mixed-media-inspired approach combining poetry, typography, painterly imagery, expressive graphite detail and tactile surface texture within one restrained composition.

Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a beautifully textured, heavyweight archival paper chosen to complement the softness of the typography, graphite detail and painterly character of the artwork.

COLOURWAY

This piece is created in a quiet, nostalgic palette of warm ivory, soft stone, weathered taupe, muted brown, charcoal and subtle warm-gold detail.

The restrained colourway allows the meeting of the two hands and the written words to remain central, while the aged wood, graphite marks and areas of painterly texture give the piece warmth, depth and the feeling of something held between memory and the present.

AVAILABLE FORMATS

STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm

A smaller, intimate format with a clean-cut edge.
