A LITTLE WITCHY
A Little Witchy is a playful nod to Halloween and to one of its most enduring characters — the witch.
But there are no bubbling cauldrons, crooked noses or sinister spells here.
Instead, she arrives in red.
Confident, theatrical and caught somewhere between a dance and a disappearing act, this is the witch reimagined with a little more elegance and considerably better wardrobe choices.
The traditional pointed hat remains, but almost everything else has been allowed to change. Loose graphite circles around the figure like movement, while the deep red dress breaks apart into expressive painterly marks, as though she might vanish before we quite work out what she is doing.
There is something wonderfully freeing about Halloween's permission to become someone else for an evening — to exaggerate, dress up, play with old stories and not take ourselves quite so seriously.
A Little Witchy is for those who have a soft spot for Halloween but prefer their seasonal traditions with a little mystery, a little humour and rather more style than fright.
