A QUIETER DAY

A Quieter Day is for the days when nothing particularly remarkable happens — and perhaps that is exactly what makes them good.

We are so used to measuring our days by what we managed to finish, where we went and what still needs doing that doing very little can sometimes feel almost uncomfortable.

But occasionally there is a slower day.

A cup stays warm beside us.
A book waits without being hurried through.
The light moves across the room while we are actually there to notice it.

The artwork holds that feeling in a quiet Mediterranean setting — an empty chair, weathered stone, distant sea and a table that suggests there is nowhere else we need to be just yet. Painterly passages meet graphite-inspired marks and warm-ivory paper, allowing the scene to feel open, sun-washed and gently unfinished.

Surreal Mindscapes does have a tendency to wander into the strange, the unexpected and occasionally the slightly impossible.

A smaller, intimate format, with the composition and typography carefully adjusted to suit its proportions while preserving the relationship between poem and landscape.

SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm

The artwork at its intended scale. The appearance of a traditional deckled (torn) paper edge is visually reproduced within the artwork itself, while the physical print is clean-cut to fit neatly into a standard 30 × 40 cm frame.

Small differences in typography, spacing or placement may appear between formats, as each version is composed specifically for its proportions.

The visible paper texture, graphite-inspired marks, unfinished painterly passages and broad areas of apparent impasto are intentional parts of the artwork. The sculptural paint effects and subtle warm-gold details are reproduced within the printed image; the finished Giclée print itself remains flat.
