Close Enough To Trust captures that quiet territory between two people.
Their bodies meet almost without distance, yet nothing in the moment feels hurried. His hand rests against her, gently holding the slipping strap of her dress. Her hand answers with a touch of its own. Neither figure dominates the other.
There is desire here, certainly.
But there is also tenderness.
The absence of fully revealed faces makes the moment less about a particular couple and more about the experience of intimacy itself — that rare combination of attraction, vulnerability and complete ease in another person's presence.

The composition combines softly rendered figurative realism with loose graphite-inspired trajectories and broad areas of substantial paint-inspired texture. The figures remain deliberately calmer and smoother, preserving the warmth and delicacy of skin while the surrounding surface carries the stronger visual texture.
Large broken passages of sculptural impasto-inspired form appear primarily around the figures, with visible thickness, irregular edges and fragmented transitions into graphite and untouched space.
