Christmas has a way of reminding us where we belong.

Not necessarily where we live, or even where we grew up, but where we can arrive exactly as we are and feel that nothing needs to be explained.

Coming Home for Christmas, Indeed is a reflection on how our relationship with Christmas changes over the years.

We grow older. Our lives take different directions. Traditions change, families change, and the Christmases we once knew are not always the Christmases we have now.

Yet certain places and people have a remarkable way of making us feel at home again.

A snow-covered path leads towards a warmly lit house, while the suggestion of a car in the foreground captures that quiet moment between travelling and arriving. Expressive painterly textures, loose graphite-inspired marks and generous warm-ivory space bring the winter landscape and original poetry together.

There is nostalgia here, but also something reassuring.

Because coming home does not always mean returning to the past.
