There is a kind of closeness that no longer needs instructions.

No need to ask where to place a hand, how near to sit, or whether there is enough room for two.

Familiar captures that quiet ease between people who have become accustomed to one another's presence — not through habit alone, but through trust.

A hand rests naturally against a body. Two figures settle into the same small space without hesitation or self-consciousness. Nothing feels arranged. Nothing needs to be explained.

Their faces remain outside the composition, leaving the relationship itself undefined. They could be lovers, partners, or simply two people for whom physical closeness has become its own familiar language.

Around them, the figures move between soft realism, broad painterly passages and graphite-inspired marks, gradually dissolving into warm-ivory space.

It is intimate without needing to perform intimacy.

Sometimes closeness becomes so familiar that we stop thinking about it altogether.
