INTO THE MIST

Not every path needs to reveal where it is going.

Into The Mist captures a solitary figure moving quietly through an autumn landscape, with the world ahead disappearing almost completely into pale fog.

There is no drama in her departure and no hesitation in her stance. Broom in hand, hat firmly in place, she simply continues forward — as though not being able to see the whole road has never been a particularly good reason to stop.

The traditional witch imagery is there, but once again Surreal Mindscapes plays with it rather than taking it too seriously. She is not flying through a moonlit sky or casting spells. She is walking, grounded and self-possessed, through a landscape that feels uncertain but strangely inviting.

And perhaps that is what makes the piece feel less about witches and more about us.

It is for anyone who has ever had to move forward without knowing exactly what comes next — trusting themselves enough to take the next step anyway.

Sometimes you don’t need to see beyond the mist.
