ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
THE FIRST STEP INSIDE
The First Step Inside is a reflection on the strange, hopeful space between arriving somewhere and truly beginning a life there.
It considers the way an unfamiliar place can hold countless futures at once — before routines settle, before memories accumulate, before anything has quite decided what it will become.
The work captures that brief moment when possibility feels almost tangible: when we are not yet looking at what a place is, but imagining what it might hold.
PRODUCT DETAILS
An original Fine Art Literary Keepsake, bringing poetry, painterly imagery and typography together as a single composition.
Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a heavyweight archival paper chosen for its beautifully tactile surface and its ability to reproduce delicate graphite, painterly detail and subtle tonal variation.
AVAILABLE FORMATS
STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm
A more intimate presentation with a clean-cut edge. The composition is carefully adapted for this format while preserving the balance and character of the original artwork.
SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm
The original composition at its intended scale. The beautiful texture of a traditional deckled (torn) paper edge is reproduced as part of the artwork itself, while the physical print is clean-cut to fit neatly into a standard 30 × 40 cm frame.
Subtle differences in spacing and placement may occur between formats as each version is carefully composed for its dimensions.
Visible graphite traces, painterly marks and softly unresolved edges are intentional elements of the artwork and form part of its original Fine Art composition.
PERSONALISATION
A name, date or short dedication may be added in a subtle handwritten style, thoughtfully placed to complement the original composition.
Example: “For Emma & Jack · The beginning of home · 2026”
UNFRAMED
The print is supplied unframed. Any frames or styled settings shown in product imagery are for presentation only.
Please note that subtle variations in colour and tone may occur between your screen and the finished Fine Art print.
Designed and created by Surreal Mindscapes.
