ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

THE LAST LIGHT OF OCTOBER

The Last Light Of October belongs to that particular moment of autumn when almost all the colour has gone.

The leaves are wet underfoot, the trees are nearly bare and darkness arrives before we are quite ready for it. It is no longer the bright, golden autumn of September — but there is something beautiful about this part of the season too.

Perhaps it is because the smaller comforts suddenly matter more. A light in a distant window. Coming home to warmth. Closing the door on the cold. Knowing that somewhere beyond the mist and bare branches, someone has already lit a lamp.

This piece celebrates late autumn in all its darker, quieter beauty — when the world outside becomes a little wilder and home feels just a little warmer because of it.

A keepsake for those who love autumn not only when it is golden, but right until its last light disappears.

PRODUCT DETAILS

An original Fine Art Literary Keepsake, combining poetry, painterly imagery, graphite detail and expressive texture in one carefully composed artwork.

Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a beautifully textured, heavyweight archival paper chosen to bring out the graphite marks, deep painterly tones and tactile character of the artwork.

COLOURWAY

This artwork is created in a rich late-autumn colourway of warm ivory, charcoal, earthy brown, burnt orange and muted gold.

Deeper shadows and weathered neutral tones give the landscape its late-October atmosphere, while the small warm light in the distance provides a quiet point of warmth within the composition.

AVAILABLE FORMATS

STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm

A smaller, more intimate version with a clean-cut edge. The composition is carefully adjusted for this size while keeping the balance and character of the original artwork.

SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm

The artwork at its intended scale. The texture of a traditional deckled (torn) paper edge is reproduced within the artwork itself, while the physical print is clean-cut to fit neatly into a standard 30 × 40 cm frame.

Small differences in spacing or placement may appear between formats, as each version is composed to suit its proportions.

The visible graphite lines, painterly marks, expressive textures and softly unfinished edges are intentional parts of the artwork.

PERSONALISATION

A name, date or short dedication may be added in a subtle handwritten style, thoughtfully placed to complement the original composition.

Example: “For Mum — for all our autumn evenings. Love, Anna x”

UNFRAMED

The print is supplied unframed. Any frames or styled settings shown in product images are for presentation only.

Colours and subtle tonal details may vary slightly between your screen and the finished Fine Art print.

Designed and created by Surreal Mindscapes.
