When You Are Ready is about one of the hardest balances in parenthood — knowing when to hold on and when to give a child room to find their own way.

At first, that small hand reaches for yours because it needs almost everything from you. You steady the first steps, stay close when the world feels unfamiliar and become the hand they instinctively look for.

But growing up slowly changes what that hand is for.

The holding becomes guiding. The guiding becomes standing nearby. And eventually, love means resisting the urge to lead every step — trusting that everything you have given them will help them choose a direction of their own.

The two hands in the artwork never quite disappear into one another. One is there, open and ready. The other chooses to hold it.
