Both Of Her

ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

BOTH OF HER

We rarely have only one version of ourselves.

There is the person we present to the world — shaped by experience, expectation, confidence, disappointment, memory and everything we have learned to carry.

And somewhere alongside her is another.

Not necessarily younger.

Not more innocent.

Not more authentic.

Simply different.

Both Of Her brings those versions together without asking which one is the real woman.

One face is softly drawn, almost unfinished, its lines still visible. The other has accumulated layers — texture, fragments, marks and imperfections that seem to have gathered over time.

Yet neither replaces the other.

They overlap.

Because perhaps becoming ourselves is not a process of leaving previous versions behind. We carry traces of who we have been into whoever we become next.

Some parts remain visible.

Some disappear beneath new layers.

And some unexpectedly return years later.

This piece is for those who recognise that identity is rarely as simple as becoming one finished person.

We change. We contradict ourselves. We grow around things we thought we had left behind.

And somehow, through all of it,

both of her can still be true.
