Fate Decided

ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

FATE DECIDED

There are some goodbyes we are never quite ready for.

And afterwards, we find our own ways of keeping someone close.

A familiar song. A memory arriving without warning. Something they used to say. And sometimes, a little robin appearing nearby at exactly the moment we needed it.

There is a comforting belief that robins appear when someone we have lost is near. Whether we take that literally, or simply allow ourselves to find comfort in the thought, perhaps matters less than what that small moment gives us.

Because when we love someone, we would rather believe that leaving is not the same as disappearing.

The solitary robin rests quietly above weathered stone, surrounded by fallen leaves, graphite-inspired marks and broad painterly passages that gradually dissolve into warm-ivory paper. It is deliberately small — not a grand symbol, simply a little living presence that might make us stop and remember.

Fate Decided is about grief, but also gratitude. About missing someone while still being thankful that, from all the lives that might have passed beside ours, theirs became part of ours.

Perhaps that is why we keep looking for the robin.

Not because we need proof.

Sometimes we simply need the comfort of believing that those who leave us do not entirely leave.

PRODUCT DETAILS

A digital Fine Art Literary Keepsake by Surreal Mindscapes, created through a mixed-media-inspired approach combining original poetry, painterly imagery, graphite-inspired drawing, expressive texture and restrained typography within one carefully balanced composition.

Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a beautifully textured, heavyweight archival paper chosen to complement the weathered stone, delicate graphite-inspired marks and expressive painterly character of the artwork.

COLOURWAY

A quiet, natural palette of warm ivory, weathered stone, soft grey, charcoal, earthy brown and muted umber, with the robin's warm orange-red breast and scattered autumn leaves providing restrained touches of colour.

The limited palette and generous warm-ivory space give the composition a gentle, reflective quality suited to the subject of remembrance.

AVAILABLE FORMATS

STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm

A smaller, intimate format, with the composition and typography carefully adjusted to suit its proportions while preserving the relationship between poem and image.

SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm

The artwork at its intended scale. The appearance of a traditional deckled (torn) paper edge is visually reproduced within the artwork itself, while the physical print is clean-cut to fit neatly into a standard 30 × 40 cm frame.

Small differences in typography, spacing or placement may appear between formats, as each version is composed specifically for its proportions.

The visible paper texture, graphite-inspired marks, unfinished painterly passages and broad areas of apparent impasto are intentional parts of the artwork. The sculptural paint effects are reproduced within the printed image; the finished Giclée print itself remains flat.

PERSONALISATION

A name, date or short dedication may be added in a subtle handwritten style, thoughtfully placed to complement the original composition.

Personalisation can be kept very simple, allowing the artwork and poem to remain the focus.

UNFRAMED

The print is supplied unframed. Any frames or styled settings shown in product images are for presentation only.

Colours and subtle tonal details may vary slightly between your screen and the finished Fine Art print.
