INTERBEING

We like to imagine ourselves as separate things.

A person.
An animal.
A place.
A landscape.

Interbeing quietly questions where one truly ends and another begins.

The owl rests against the woman as feathers, hair, clothing and graphite begin to share the same visual language. Behind them, a distant settlement, water and mountains emerge only partially, as though they too belong to the same continuous surface.

There is no obvious story between the two figures. Instead, the work considers something quieter — our connection to the living world around us, and the idea that perhaps we are never quite as separate from it as we imagine.

Painterly passages give weight to the woman and owl before gradually dissolving into graphite-inspired lines, unfinished marks and generous warm-ivory space. Human presence, animal life and landscape become different parts of the same composition rather than separate subjects within it.

Nothing here exists entirely on its own.

Perhaps neither do we.
