Perhaps Just One Spell
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
PERHAPS JUST ONE SPELL
She had every intention of spending a perfectly quiet autumn afternoon.
A good book.
A tree to lean against.
A black cat for company.
No broomstick required. No bubbling cauldron. No mysterious strangers being turned into frogs.
And then she remembered something.
She is, after all, a witch.
Perhaps Just One Spell is a playful return to the more mischievous side of the Surreal Mindscapes witch — still elegant, still entirely composed, but perhaps not quite ready to abandon the old traditions.
The open book leaves just enough unanswered. Is she reading a novel? Looking for an old recipe? Or checking the wording of something she hasn’t used for a very long time?
We are probably better off not asking.
Created for those who enjoy Halloween with a little wit rather than horror, and for anyone who suspects that being sensible all the time is terribly overrated.
After all…
one little spell couldn’t hurt. 😏

COLOURWAY
A sophisticated autumn palette of charcoal black, warm ivory, burnt orange, russet, muted gold and earthy brown, with rich dark tones surrounding the figure and her feline companion.
AVAILABLE FORMATS
STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm
A smaller, intimate presentation that brings particular attention to the witch, her book and the quietly watchful black cat beside her.
SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm
A larger presentation allowing the sweeping graphite tree, falling leaves, figure and generous negative space to become a stronger part of the composition.
Small differences in cropping, spacing or placement may appear between formats, as each version is composed to suit its proportions.
The visible graphite lines, painterly marks, irregular textures and softly unfinished areas are intentional parts of the artwork.
UNFRAMED
The print is supplied unframed. Any frames or styled settings shown in product images are for presentation only.
Colours and subtle tonal details may vary slightly between your screen and the finished Fine Art print.
Designed and created by Surreal Mindscapes.
