Stone Piece
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
STONE PIECE
Sometimes comfort comes from the most unexpected places.
Stone Piece is exactly what the title suggests.
Perhaps.
A woman rests against a monumental stone figure, eyes closed, her hand placed gently against its face.
Whether she has found a piece of stone, a piece of someone she remembers, or simply a little peace beside it is left unresolved.
Stone, skin and paint begin to share the same surface as the two figures emerge through broad painterly passages, graphite-inspired marks and warm-ivory space. What is solid, what is living and what might be memory gradually become difficult to separate.
There is intimacy here, but no explanation for it.
She asks nothing of the stone.
And the stone asks nothing of her.
PRODUCT DETAILS
A digital Fine Art artwork by Surreal Mindscapes, created through a mixed-media-inspired approach combining painterly imagery, graphite-inspired drawing, expressive texture and selective realism within one carefully balanced composition.
Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a beautifully textured, heavyweight archival paper chosen to complement the rich painterly surface, graphite-inspired detail and tactile-looking passages of the artwork.
COLOURWAY
A warm, restrained palette of ivory, weathered stone, taupe, umber, charcoal, soft black and muted earthy neutrals.
Subtle shifts between warm skin tones and cooler stone allow the two figures to remain distinct while gradually merging into the same painterly surface.
AVAILABLE FORMATS
STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm
A smaller, intimate format, carefully composed to preserve the closeness of the figures and surrounding negative space.
SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm
The artwork at its intended scale, with a clean-cut edge, allowing the painterly surface, graphite-inspired detail and quiet emotional presence of the composition to be appreciated more fully.
Small differences in spacing or placement may appear between formats, as each version is composed specifically for its proportions.
The visible paper texture, graphite-inspired marks, unfinished painterly passages and broad areas of apparent impasto are intentional parts of the artwork. The sculptural paint effects are reproduced within the printed image; the finished Giclée print itself remains flat.
UNFRAMED
The print is supplied unframed. Any frames or styled settings shown in product images are for presentation only.
Colours and subtle tonal details may vary slightly between your screen and the finished Fine Art print.
Designed and created by Surreal Mindscapes.
