The Update Portrait is a playful little pause in the story — a way of keeping the details that have already changed so quickly, and the ones everyone is already afraid of forgetting.

At six months, everything feels different from those first days. There is more expression, more personality, more discovery, and suddenly a baby who only just arrived seems busy becoming entirely themselves.

Part portrait, part milestone, this artwork keeps those small but unforgettable changes close: the new expressions, the favourite habits, the tiny accomplishments, and the lovely surprise of how much someone can change in such a short time.

Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a beautifully textured, heavyweight archival paper chosen to bring out the soft graphite, painterly marks and subtle tonal detail of the artwork.

AVAILABLE FORMATS

STUDIO — 21 × 30 cm

A smaller, more intimate version with a clean-cut edge. The composition is carefully adjusted for this size while keeping the balance and character of the original artwork.

SIGNATURE — 30 × 40 cm

The artwork at its intended scale. The texture of a traditional deckled (torn) paper edge is reproduced within the artwork itself, while the physical print is clean-cut to fit neatly into a standard 30 × 40 cm frame.

Small differences in spacing or placement may appear between formats, as each version is composed to suit its proportions.

The visible graphite lines, painterly marks and softly unfinished edges are intentional parts of the artwork.

PERSONALISATION

This artwork is created especially for your child.

To create the portrait, you will need to provide a clear photograph of your baby, together with their name, age or milestone, current weight and length, and any small details you would like reflected in the artwork’s written content.

Your photograph is used as visual reference for the portrait. The finished artwork remains an artistic, painterly interpretation rather than a photographic reproduction, preserving the character of the original Fine Art composition.

A name, date or short dedication may also be added in a subtle handwritten style, thoughtfully placed to complement the original composition.

CONTINUE THE STORY

The Update Portrait may be ordered as a standalone keepsake, or as part of a growing series.
