WILD WITHIN

Not everything wild needs to be tamed.

Wild Within explores the quieter relationship we have with the instinctive parts of ourselves — the ones that do not always fit neatly into reason, expectation or control.

A woman rests against a wolf, both with their eyes closed. There is no struggle between them and no suggestion that one has conquered the other. Instead, they seem completely at ease in one another's presence.

The wolf can be read simply as himself — wild, powerful and unexpectedly peaceful.

But perhaps he is something else too.

The instinct we learn to trust.
The independence we refuse to lose.
The part of ourselves that remains entirely our own.

Their forms meet through soft realism, expressive graphite-inspired marks and broad painterly passages, while areas of warm ivory and fractured gold allow both figures to emerge and disappear into the same surface.

There is strength here, but it does not need to announce itself.

Perhaps the wildest parts of us are not the ones we need to overcome.

Perhaps they are the ones we need to recognise.
