You Don't Know Me
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
YOU DON'T KNOW ME
Being visible is not the same as being known.
You Don't Know Me plays with the space between what we allow others to see and everything that remains beyond their reach.
A female figure appears behind a fractured surface, her body partially revealed yet her identity deliberately withheld. We can see enough to form an impression — perhaps even enough to believe we understand her — but the most defining part of her remains obscured.
And perhaps that is the point.
We make assumptions about people constantly. From appearance, behaviour, fragments of conversation, photographs, social media, or simply from the version of themselves we happen to encounter. We fill the spaces we cannot see with our own conclusions.
But every person contains rooms we have never entered.
Here, the surface is not something that necessarily needs to be torn away. It becomes a boundary — a reminder that privacy, complexity and the parts of ourselves we choose not to reveal do not make us less authentic.
Created for those who value individuality, emotional depth and the right to remain partly unknowable.
You may see me.
You may have formed an opinion.
But you don't know me.
PRODUCT DETAILS
A Fine Art print from the Surreal Mindscapes Fine Art Edition, combining figurative imagery with restrained graphite-inspired marks, muted painterly layers and fractured, tactile-looking surfaces.
The partially obscured female figure remains deliberately softer and quieter than the surrounding material. Large broken areas of the composition create the illusion of physical depth and separation, while subtle drawing marks and unfinished transitions allow the figure to appear suspended somewhere between presence and concealment.
Printed as a museum-quality Giclée Fine Art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a beautifully textured, heavyweight archival paper selected to complement the subdued tonal range, delicate figurative detail and layered character of the artwork.
COLOURWAY
Warm ivory · chalk white · soft stone · taupe · smoke grey · charcoal · muted beige
