WE REMEMBER...

A minute of silence matters.

But remembrance was never meant to end when the minute does.

We Remember... is a quiet reflection on those who gave their lives in war, and on the ordinary freedoms that can be so easy to take for granted.

Rather than remembering only through ceremonies, poppies or a particular date on the calendar, the poem looks towards the moments we rarely think to call precious.

A door left open. A journey made safely. Laughter beneath a peaceful sky. Another morning. Another tomorrow.

Small, ordinary things that become extraordinary when we remember what others gave so that we might have them.

Red poppies rise from a quiet landscape, accompanied by delicate graphite-inspired grasses, weathered painterly passages and generous warm-ivory space. The composition allows the words and imagery to exist together without overwhelming the stillness of the subject.

The handwritten date, 11th November 1918, recalls the Armistice, while the poem's message reaches beyond one day, one conflict or one generation.

This is not only about remembering what was lost.

It is about recognising what was given — and how quietly it continues to shape our everyday lives.

We remember. Not only once a year.
